Vermilion Flycatcher (female) - Forsythe Park, Hammond, Indiana - October 11, 1997

For years Ken Brock would predict that "today is the day we are going to find a Vermilion Flycatcher in the traps!" This first state record was spotted hanging around the softball fence along the shore of Wolf Lake. It stayed for several weeks allowing many birders to add it to their Indiana list.

The following photo was taken with an Olympus OM2 SLR camera and a 500mm mirror lens.
