Kenn Kaufman was driving across northern Indiana on Interstate 80 on his way back to Ohio when he looked up and spotted a Swallow-tailed Kite flying across the highway. The bird spent a couple of weeks flying back and forth from Pinhook Bog on the north side of 80 to an orchard on the south side. I had missed this impressive species twice before on long chases down state.
The following photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995 Digital Camera attached
to a Kowa TSN4 telescope.
