Semipalmated Sandpiper (bill length variations) - Outer Banks, North Carolina - May, 2017

Semipalmated Sandpipers are known for a wide range of bill lengths. This photo shows the range of variation, from the short blunt bill of the bird on the left to the western sandpiper-like bill of the bird on the right.
