Reddish Egret - Miller Beach, Lake County, Indiana - September 9, 2006
After missing the 1st state record Reddish Egret at Kingsbury several years earlier, I assumed this would be a species that would never be on my Indiana list. So when this 2nd state record appeared at the west end of Miller Beach, flying back and forth from the US Steel impoundment, it represented another example of how unpredictable birding can be.
The following photos were taken with a Nikon D50 digital camera with a 70-300mm zoom lens.
