I had struggled for years to get a good Ovenbird photo; they are difficult to approach and always seem to be in the shadows. My luck changed while birding the "wall" on the south edge of Whiting Park. I peeked over the tall concrete wall and found myself eye to eye with this bird. With the wall concealing all but my head and camera, the bird just stared back at me and allowed these shots.
These photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XSi Digital Camera with a 100-400mm zoom lens.
