This interesting bird is apparently an adult hybrid between a Glaucous and Herring Gull. The large size, pale back and flight feathers, and short primary extention are all typical of Glaucous. The winter head streaking and black on the primaries are Herring Gull traits. It appears that this same bird returned to the area for at least a second straight winter.
