"Iceland Gull/Thayer's Gull intergrade" - 1st year - Michigan City Harbor, Michigan City, Indiana - February, 2005

This gull shows the dark primaries with pale tips typical of a Thayer's Gull. However, the small bill and round head are more typical of an Iceland Gull. The tertial pattern is intermediate between the two species. These photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995 Digital Camera attached to a Kowa TSN4 telescope.
