This beautiful bird was first spotted on the beach with Great Black-backed Gulls. It looked quite similar to the "Great Black-backed X Glaucous Gull hybrid" on page 295 of Howell and Dunn's "Gulls of the Americas." Great Black-backed and Glaucous couldn't be more different in plumage, but a mix of these two extremes sure makes for a stunning bird.
