Antpittas, as a group are notoriously difficult to see, staying hidden in the dense forest. Normally, the chances of seeing a Giant Antpitta are somewhere between slim and none. However, legendary Angel Paz and his family have managed to show countless birders a Giant Antpitta they have named "Maria." There are likely several "Marias", but we were thrilled just to get to see and photograph one!
