Costa Rica trip with Lifer Nature Tours - October, 2021

Snowcap

After being grounded by the Covid pandemic for about eighteen months, it was so nice to return to Costa Rica with some Indiana friends. The trip was once again organized and led by friend and Costa Rican guide Juan Diego Vargas. We concentrated on some more remote areas in the northern portion of the country, targeting some tough to find specialty birds. We saw or heard over 400 species of birds, including 21 raptors, 10 owls, 12 parrots, 6 motmots, 5 Kingfishers, 8 trogons, 15 wrens, and 27 hummingbirds! Once more, we enjoyed amazing scenery, beautiful lodges, and fascinating wildlife. Best of all, thanks to Juan Diego, we found an amazing list of rare birds.
