At the end of each day, each participant was asked to select their "bird of the day" - a very difficult task with all the incredible birds in Ecuador. Even tougher, was selecting a "bird of the TRIP" during our last dinner. After reflecting on all the amazing birds and experiences, I selected the iconic Andean Cock-of-the-rock. Not only did we get to see both color morphs, we also enjoyed eight birds calling and displayibg at Refugio Paz de las Aves, thanks to our wonderful host - Angel Paz!
